Sincere best wishes for a pleasant Christmas and a prosperous New Year are extended to you and your families. May the true significance of His birth fill our hearts throughout our days.

Here is the third edition of class notes under the new regime. Thus far there have been no comments. The reason for this, I trust, is not lack of critical perusal by an enthusiastic body of subscribers. Suggestions, philosophical points of view, a friendly greeting - anything you would like to pass along - from each of you will be welcomed by the secretary. You will observe from the brevity of this column that my infallible sources of information furnished a mere trickle of material this round. Certainly we do not wish to place the secretary in a position which makes necessary editorializing or autobiographical sketching in order to complete the column — so let us contributors be — one and all!

Bob Hill continues active in the political scene. In September he addressed the Cos Cob, Conn., G.O.P. Club's 30th annual clambake. I would like to know how he maintains so trim a waistline. Bob has received Doctor of Laws degrees from New England College and St. Mary's University, as well as from Dartmouth. He is a driving force in New Hampshire politics.

Dick Bolton has been named regional chairman for a statewide educational program to explain Amendment 4 on the November election ballot which would create a Job Development Authority for New York State. His region consists of counties around Albany. The amendment would provide funds for loans to non-profit area industrial development corporations for plant construction and land acquisition for manufacturing plants. An estimated 70,000 new jobs could be created. Dick graduated from the Albany Law School and is vice president, Area Development Department, of the National Bank and Trust Co. of Albany.

Although details available to me are incomplete, word has been received that LeoCaproni Jr. has assumed duties as a hotel manager in New York City. He was previously located in Dallas, Texas, associated with a motor court operation.

Paul Vaitses Jr. has announced his plans to seek re-election as alderman-at-large in the city of Melrose, Mass. Paul is completing his fourth term in this office, one as president of the board. I trust that news of a successful campaign will be reported here next month. He is associated with Hutchins, Mixter and Parkinson, members of the New York, American and Boston stock exchanges.

In September the Stamford, Conn., Advocate reported that William Dutton Jr., executive director of the American Institute of Planners, Washington, D. C., addressed the 20th anniversary dinner of the Family and Children's Services. He spoke on "The Future of the Community." Bud also spoke last summer in England. During that trip he studied urban planning problems in England, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Bud did graduate work at the University of North Carolina after World War II. He has served in various capacities in planning and redevelopment work in Greensboro, N. C., Knoxville, Tenn., Chicago, and Charleston, S. C.

Another honor, with the attendant increased demand on his time and talents, has come to Bob Strasenburgh. Our local papers recently carried the announcement of Bob's election to the board of trustees of the Rochester Institute of Technology. This appointment is in keeping with the institute's program of expansion in facilities and improvement in the quality of education it offers. My interest in R.I.T. dates back several years to when I was on the faculty in their evening school program.

The next time you drink a Pepsi think of Bill Bullock. It has been announced that Bill has joined the PepsiCola Go. as manager of wage and salary administration. Considered an expert in this field, he has administered compensation programs for Merck and Company, Sylvania Electric Products, and most recently RichardsonMerrill, Inc. We wonder if Bill, a resident of Princeton, N. J., is still statistician for the Princeton football team. They couldn't have picked a more capable man for the job.

The November issue of this MAGAZINE carried the annual Alumni Fund Report. Dick Lippman probably will carry the list of '42 contributors in his newsletter one of these days. Certainly all Dartmouth alumni are justifiably proud of this achievement — and our class has established a most enviable record in this phase of Dartmouth affairs. Association with you gentlemen, even in this relatively impersonal way, is a source of real pleasure to me.
