Nancy and I had the pleasure of spending last week on the island of Abaco in the Bahamas with classmates Tom Campbell and Diane, Bob McConnaughey and French and Ken McGruther and Audrey Romney. There was great fishing, eating, beaching and fellowship. Tom used his skills as a shortorder cook to do breakfasts for us. He is near finishing his book on the underground railroad in Chicago. Though all of us caught our share of fish, Bob and French were the only ones skilled enough to go after the bonefish with fly rods. Ken wore me out as I listened to his schedule of hockey playing and baseball playing and officiating.

Dale Beihoffer and his wife, Janet, have become empty nesters with the departure of their son for military service in Korea. They're enjoying their recently arrived grandson. Since retiring from his law practice Dale has gone back to mathematics. He took an advanced undergraduate math course and this led to his collaboration with one of his professors and the publication of Faster Algorithms for Frobenius Numbers. In addition to intellectual pursuits Dale is active volunteering in the community. He and Janet also love to travel and have visited 44 states and Washington, D.C., in the past nine years.

Bill Clack is practicing dermatology in New York State. Bill went on to medical school after three years with our class. He then returned to Hanover for his residency training. He and Carolyn live in Horseheads, near Elmira, New York. She continues to teach. In his spare time he enjoys sailing and cross-country skiing.

Frank Burk retired from full-time practice about seven years ago but continues to be active in teaching, training and consulting. He was an adjunct professor of law at the Georgetown University Law Center from 2002 to 2005. Prior to that he served for 21 years on the staff of the office of legislative counsel of the Senate, specializing in the drafting of banking, housing and securities legislation. In 1991 he became the legislative counsel of the U.S. Senate, a position that he held until 1998. He continues to live in Falls Church, Virginia. He and his wife, Virginia, enjoy their four grandchildren, who are ages 3, 6, 7 and 11. Frank stays in touch with Dave Bush, a fellow Pennsylvania native.

Please mark your calendars for the Homecoming mini-reunion on October 17 to 19. Bob and French McConnaughey are organizing a great weekend.
