After losing the first two games of the season, the freshman football team rebounded to win three of its last four. The Pea Greens were outclassed by Holy Cross, 25-8, at Worcester, but the following week they beat Harvard, 20-0. All three touchdowns were scored by halfback Bob O'Brien from Northboro, Mass.

At New Haven the freshmen made some costly mistakes and allowed Yale to win, 12-7. In this game it was again the running of O'Brien, as well as the quarterbacking of Dick Horton from Reading, Mass., that sparked the Green offense.

Back in Hanover, the '65s beat New Hampshire, 28-14, and Boston University, 37-12. In the BU game O'Brien scored twice and halfback Jon Fabri once. Gary Wilson kicked four extra points and a field goal and scored a touchdown.

Ab Oakes' freshman soccer team complete its season with a respectable record of six wins, three losses, and two ties. It finished the season strong after being tied by Harvard 0-0 and Williams 2-2. In its final three games, the Green beat St. Paul's, 1-0, Windham, 2-0, and New Hampton, 3-0. Goalie Dick Furness was credited with four shutouts during the season. In the New Hampton game the goals were scored by John Monroe, Ted Muller and Rick Morton.

The '65 cross-country team was average. After beating Yale and Columbia in a triangular meet, it lost to Brown, 15-46, and Harvard, 17-40. In the season's finale the '65s defeated Mt. Hermon, 25-32, to end the season with a 2-2 mark.
