This is going to be a real big month for this association. As announced, the Glee Club will be here Saturday, March 25, to give a concert at the Ritz Theatre, Wilshire at La Brea. Any proceeds derived from the performance above expenses will be added to the Scholarship Fund, managed so efficiently by John Lyman '28. If you have not already secured your tickets, quickly contact Dick Milliken '50, Bob Newson '53 or your; class agent, who will supply you post haste. The warm generosity with which members of the group have opened their homes, automobiles, and larders to the Glee Club, demonstrates once again that we on the West Coast are not three thousand-miles from Hanover, but just across the "field.
At a meeting "of the officers and the board of directors: of the club on Bebruary 7, our member of the Alumni Council, Ken Lieber '36, reported on a recent national meeting of the Council in Cleveland. Ken's notes were voluminous and would make tedious reading in this sparkling column, but he presented some ideas which are working in other parts of the country and which we are going to endeavor to copy out here. It has been found that telephone committees add greatly to the cohesiveness of individual clubs and that the preparation of a monthly or quarterly letter helps. We are going. to establish .committees to investigate the possibility of organizing such procedures and see if we cannot achieve greater cooperation within our group. It boils down to the fact that too few are doing too much for the benefit of all. Treasurer Bob Newsom '53 reports that out of over eight hundred dues letters mailed out, less than one hundred members contributed. We can do better. John Lyman '28 reports that 61 people have contributed to our scholarship fund! Amazing. This is a live organization and with but a little assistance from the majority, we can make it dynamic. Support the club - attend the luncheons - back Dartmouth.
