The club has been maintaining an active pace. Our roving ambassadors, the Glee Club, sang in the Los Angeles area on three occasions recently, first at the Ritz Theater where an assemblage of 800 turned out to hear them. Then they appeared in Long Beach under the sponsorship of Rev. Hi Crosby and Dick Kimball '21. Leaving Long Beach the group toured Disneyland and their repertoire was heartily received by a surprised audience at the park. President Dick Milliken '50 and John Lyman '28 were responsible for the Disneyland concert and squiring fifty energetic young men around Los Angeles county required some doing.

Shortly after the Glee Club left. President Dickey arrived in our city to kick off the West coast Alumni Fund campaign. Stu Durkee '33, hosted the President at an informal luncheon prior to our work-shop dinner. Attending were Ken Lieber '36, Dick Hefler '36, our new member of the Alumni Council, Leon Rothschild '24, Dick Milliken '50, Don DesCombes '54 and Bob Purvis '49. Between eighty and ninety members put in an appearance for the evening dinner and seventy five per cent of these people were actively engaged in either enrollment work or the Alumni Fund drive. John Dodd '22 gave an inspiring talk on the purpose and need for our Alumni Fund and President Dickey enlightened us with a discourse on the American educational problems that many said was the greatest speech he has given on the California scene. The meeting was a serious one, as it was intended to be, and those fortunate enough to attend took thought-provoking material home with them which can be mulled over for weeks to come.

Our monthly luncheons have been changed to the last Friday of each month at the same spot, Dublin's, in order to avoid competition with a local Rotary Club which fancies itself as a capella choir. At last meeting, we met and listened to the new Dean of Thayer School, Dr. Myron Tribus. Dr. Tribus leaves UCLA this month to assume his new position. A very astute, driving type of individual, he will prove to be a potent force on the Dartmouth campus. Bob Newsom '53, is trying to balance his books, so if you haven't sent in your Club dues, do so. Summer activities coming up.
