Thanks to Ducky Drake, another mystery has been solved. We have found Luther Pattee. He lives at 93 Adams St., N. Abington, Mass. - Dud Wheatley's town. He is active, and declares nine grandchildren.
Gus Fuller is bustling with Sunbird activity. Word from Charlie Batchelder indicates a fine party at Sunbird. Charlie, Caleb, and Gus have met several times to make it a big party. The George Boggs, en route south, stopped with Bill and Daisy Hands. Bill reports that Sam Sheldon has no snow in Red Wing, Minn. He can have all of ours. The Remsens were with Marion Naramore in Georgia. Phil Smith and Vogie Stiles give us a good word. News from Kae Sullivan Davis includes word of her remarriage in Hanover.
Oscar Olson left us December 28. As soon as I get the details, I'll write his obituary. Dick Pritchard has gone, too. He died February 19, and services were held February si. Dick' and I have spent all of our years with the Stanley Works since leaving Hanover, and I still cannot reconcile it, even though he has been ill a long time.
It was good to get word from Lou Corliss. Another help came from Henry Lowell, who gave us further word on Maurice Sparhawk. We need that kind of help.
Going back to Newsletter days, let's restart a custom. It is just to make space, there being no other method, apparently. April birthdays for: Richmond, Richardson, Barke, Gregg, Rutherford, Wheatley, Phelps, White, Grant, Fordham, Faxon, Dearing, Kimball, Emerson, Babcock, Vorhees, and Holway.
This makes as far down as I can go when reporting the missing questionnaires. Bill Hands knows the story. We still need 43. You will never get a "Golden Book" that way; so forget how good that you are supposed to be, and get down to size. We want to start our next-of-kin contacts as soon as we can complete your file, and there will have to be somebody else for a job unless you do it immediately. I'm fed up.
