Thanks to such as Phil Smith, Paul Applin, Dud Colby, Roy Starbuck's sister and John Ferguson '15, we can report a start on the missing sixteen, as mentioned in the January notes. With this sort of help we now know a little something about Charles Thorston, Maurice Sparhawk, Art Gillis, Roy Starbuck and Guy Fuller. There are eleven others, though.
Last call for Sunbird, March 14. Gus Fuller, Charlie Batchelder, and Caleb Niles have been working hard tor the Bath Club party, 16700 Gulf Blvd., Redington Beach.
Brown University Community Citations, Raymond Harris Trott: "The Civic Welfare and industrial growth of our state have always been your prime concern. To the vigorous promotion of these purposes you have brought the financial acumen of a banker, the wise counsel of a trained lawyer, and a willing capacity for sound and constructive work. You have provided progressive leadership in many fields of civic endeavor. For your distinguished service and outstanding accomplishments Brown salutes you." Nice going, Ray.
John Hanna is visiting professor of law at the University of Mississippi. Ken Fuller retired as chairman of the board of the New Jersey Bank and Trust Company and now lives in Lenox, Mass. Freddie and Louise Davidson are part-way around the world. Ellsworth and Constance Buck sailed March 8 for a Mediterranean Cruise until April 27. Rosie and Katharine Hinman are off for Florida and the West Indies.
Bob Dunbar is retired. A little blood pressure trouble, otherwise all right. He reminds us that this Bob business came from one Red Spillane.
Ellsworth Buck has accepted the chairmanship for the history business, and lost no time getting organized. He called a New York meeting where we had Ellsworth, BillHands, Gordon Sleeper, Walt Humphrey and Chuck Kingsley. Of a large number of Dartmouth meetings over too many years, I think this one the best of all. Real enthusiasm, and much accomplished I left the Dartmouth Club with a spring in my step.
With all the publicity about possible coeducation at Dartmouth, Pen Aborn '14 has produced this picture of Dartmouth beauties of a sort who made up the chorus line in a student musical show. These '14ers and '15ers are believed to be the Smythe Girls in "The Green Parasol," a three-act musical that skipped its merry way from White River Junction to Venice.
