Approximately 100 alumni turned out for the President's Dinner at the Barclay Hotel on Wednesday evening, March 22. Back less than a week from his mission to Warsaw, College President John Sloan Dickey had observations on his trip behind tire Iron Curtain to offer as well as a challenging presentation of Dartmouth's needs in order to maintain its present stature.

The President's Dinner was preceded by workshops for class agents, enrollment, and interviewing workers, and cocktails. The comparison between the turnout at the President's Dinner and at our Club Annual Dinner, which had fewer attending in spite of the inclusion of wives, dates and dancing, leads your Executive Committee to wonder whether the Philadelphia Club should not return to stag annual dinners.

By the time these words appear in print, the Philadelphia Inter-Club Softball League will be underway, with the first game scheduled for April 27. This year Roger Young '55 takes over the reins of management of the Dartmouth team from Jack Young '47. If you haven't been involved but want to return to the diamond for dear old Dartmouth, give Roger a call at home at MO 4-5540.

June will soon be upon us, and June means our Club's Annual Family Picnic at Jim Tindle's '36 Valley Forge Farm. It's a great affair with swimming, Softball, sunning, beer, hotdogs, etc. If you have paid your Club Dues for 1961, you'll receive in the mail the details on this affair, slated for Saturday afternoon, Tune 24.

That last sentence brings us, without too much subtlety, to the question whether you have as yet paid your Club dues for 1961. To be candid, if we are going to be able to keep our program going and to put out that directory which has been in the works for about a year now, we need your money. And unless you have paid dues, we simply cannot afford to send you every mailing.
