Robert K. Hage '35, Director of Dartmouth's Office of Financial Aid, was the editorial chairman and chief author of a new Financial Aid Manual, 1961-62, recently published under the auspices of the College Scholarship Service of the College Entrance Examination Board. The manual, which was Mr. Hage's idea, is a guide to administering student aid programs at colleges and to analyzing the financial need of applicants.
Part I of the book deals with financial aid administration and Part II with need analysis. There is also an extensive bibliography and an appendix of sample financial aid cases, with parents' financial statements and work forms, and also of various tables of value to the officer figuring family assets, allowances, and grants.
Associated with Mr. Hage in the preparation of the manual were the financial aid officers of Princeton, M.I.T., Tulane and the University of Pennsylvania.
