Stirling Wilson '16 was saluted as Class Newsletter Editor of the Year at the annual May dinner of Dartmouth class officers in Hanover on May 5. The following citation accompanied his award:
F. Stirling Wilson, for 14 years you have labored unceasingly to make the 1916 Class Newsletter a leader in editorial content and frequency of publication. Your work has borne fruit and today the y "1916 Balmacaan Athletic Club Newsletter" stands as one of Dartmouth's finest.
Since February 1947, when you published your first issue, you have maintained an uninterrupted history of first-class editorial leadership. Your monthly issues are unsurpassed for their balance of class news and current news of the College and are a constant reminder to your classmates that they are part of a great class. The title of your newsletter and its masthead depicting a quiet lakeside scene is also a reminder of those undergraduate days by the shores of Lake Morey where 1916 became known as the Balmacaan Athletic Club.
As Newsletter Editor, you have assumed a responsible position which is in addition to being Class Secretary. Since 1946 you have given of your time and energy to this two-fold task and, for this, your class and College extend their appreciation.
Tonight, we honor you for your tireless efforts on behalf of the College with the award of Class Newsletter Editor for 1961. We know that the Class of 1916 joins us in the hope that you will continue to send forth news of the Balmacaan Athletic Club for many years to come.
