Outgoing President Ace Hall ’55 turned over the club’s reins to Ben Johnson ’50 at the annual picnic on June 27. The thirty-odd alumni and wives present gave Ace a standing ovation (no place to sit) for his outstanding leadership over the past two years. The other officers elected, re-elected, and drafted were Frank Chase ’57, vice president; Scott Corey ’57, secretary; and John Hughes ’44, treasurer.
The picnic was its usual success with good weather, great fun, and outstanding hosts. Marge and Page Worthington ’33. Other regular activities held during the 1969-70 year were the Freshmen and Fathers Send-Off Luncheon, Dartmouth Nite Dinner, Christmas Cocktail Party and Dinner, and Coach Bob Blackman with films.
The club’s newest activity and perhaps its most successful was the Eastern Shore Alumni Seminar held at The Tidewater Inn in April. This was jointly sponsored by the Washington, Wilmington, and Maryland clubs. Among those in attendance were Carolyn and Sam Adkins ’42, Betty and Jim Boak ’43, Lynn and George Gebhardt T’6s, and Mary and Chuck Presto T’6s.
