Dean Hill attended executive committee meetings of the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business in Cambridge, Mass., October 13-17. The Dean and Associate Dean Hennessey attended meeting of the New England Deans of Schools and Colleges of Business in Brookline, Mass., October 18-19.

Among faculty activities, Mr. Griswold attended the two-week educational conference, held in Wilmington in June, at the invitation of E. I. duPont de Nemours and Company. Later he served as co-chairman of an American Management Association seminar on "Long Term Corporate Finance," in New York City, and spoke at the Bangor-Waterville Chapter, National Association of Accountants, at Orono, Me., on "The Cost of Capital and Return on Capital Investment." . . . Mr. Olsen attended the annual meetings of the American Hospital Association and American College of Hospital Administrators in Chicago, September 15-20. . . . Mr. Davis participated in a workshop session of the Association of National Advertisers presenting a paper on "Advertiser-Agency Working Relations" in Chicago in June. He also gave the keynote address, launching the 10th' year of the Montreal Sales and Advertising Club's executive development program, at the University of Montreal. . . . Mr. Guest presented a paper on "The Socio-Technical System of Management" to the annual convention, American Sociological Association, Washington, D. C., August 31. His article, "Managerial Succession in Complex Organization," appeared in the American Journal of Sociology. . . . Mr. Moss gave a lecture on "Long Range Planning in Industry" at the Savings Bank program in Hanover in July. . . . Mr. Prater attended the national meeting of the American Accounting Association, at Michigan State University, August 27-29.

Dr. John W. Harriman, professor of finance at the Graduate School of Business Administration, New York University, and formerly professor of finance at Tuck from 1932 to 1940, has been named acting associate dean of the School at N. Y. U.
