Dean Hill participated in the dedication ceremonies of the new Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire on March 28. He also took part in a panel discussion concerned with the overall theme of the dedication proceedings, A Dynamic Economy: Its Challenge to Business, Education and Government. The Dean also participated in a management conference at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh on April 3. He spoke on the subject "An Educator Looks at Business."

Mr. Hennessey lectured at the General Electric Advanced Marketing Management Seminar, and at the Institute for Maine Industry, Colby College, in March.

Mr. Guest was principal speaker at the Seventh Annual Management Conference, sponsored by Ohio State University, on March 23. The topic was "The Foreman as a Leader: A New Dimension." Also, he directed research seminar on "Leadership and Change in the Industrial Organization," at McGill University, April 1, for businessmen in the Montreal area.

Mr. Quinn has received Ford Foundation grant to study mathematics and computer applications to business problems at M.I.T. and Harvard, 1963-64. He will also study the integration of scientific planning in scientific laboratories in Europe and its relationship to national planning.

Mr. Elbing spoke to the New England Board of Higher Education Regional Nursing Conference at the University of Vermont, on "The Administrative Process," March 11.

Among visiting lecturers, Kalman Silvert, Professor of Government, Dartmouth College, discussed "The Argentine Economy" with the case analysis and written expression class; L. L. Freeman '23, president, L. L. Freeman, Inc., Racine, Wis., spoke to the financial management (B) class on "The Business of a Mortgage Banker"; Charles B. Morgan, assistant manager, research department, Bache & Company, New York City, met with the financial management (C) class; Rodman C. Rockefeller '54, vice-president and director, International Basic Economy Corporation, New York City, spoke to the case analysis and written expression class on "The Corporate Philosophy of IBEC"; Herbert L. Shuttleworth II '35, president, Mohasco Industries, Inc., Amsterdam, N. Y., discussed "Business Policy Merger Strategy" with the second-year students.
