Lament - cast down your eyes in despair: Flicka Beautyface shot Mauro out of the air and took up with Bing Bong, the Leechee Nut King. Nice try anyhow. Got a new idea on running down long lost members of the illustrious class. Every once in awhile I'll run a "Where's Who?" This will be a combination of "Who's Who" and "Where Is," both of which are familiar to all of you, I am sure. The men mentioned in this feature are bound by law and threat of violence to reply to me within the month, stating their whereabouts which info. I will duly pass along. Any of you who desire to learn the location of some ol' buddy whether for friendship, curiosity, or because he still has your favorite pair of socks, can feel free to submit his name to me and I'll run it and see if we can raise them. "Where's Who for March, '62": James H. Welch Jr. (Jim - Dave Skuce wants his copy of "Tropic of Cancer" back); Read Ambler; Lenny DiSavino; Glenn Gemelli; Jack Hansen; BenjFauver; Bob Daly; Gus Callender; GimBurton; Harry Kreamer; Lauren Mason; JimMcElhinney; "Fats" Miller (there are a lot of "Bill" Millers, but only one "Fats"); Andy Morse; Pete Palin; Phil Peters; MaxRamenofsky; Tom Caley; Jerry Cantril;Charlie Forsdick; Gary Lytle; John Russell;Scotty Turnbull; Dave Hugo. Somebody has inquired the whereabouts of each of the above, and they are requested to answer up.

Russ Boss was commissioned an Ensign in the Coast Guard in late January. Russ will be serving aboard the Cutter, "Evergreen," out of Boston. Pete Stone and BruceJohnson have been commended again for their development of the GEM (Ground Effects Machine) at Fort Eustis, Va„ last summer. 'Nother bit of Army news; RayHalperin has completed the very difficult Army Ranger training school at Ft. Benning, Ga.

Dave Skuse is at the Army Language School in Monterey, Calif. Also learning to speak Latin, Sanscrit, and Hieroglyphics (% $ @ $) is Ed Toothaker. "Speak-Easy Skuse" (as he is now known) reports that "Bare Corbus, 'Mr. Wonderful' to girls throughout the East and Midwest, and a virtual legend down Lauderdale way, is now at Fort Benning attending Army Jump School."

Roger and Anne Baumberger are living in Brooklyn while he works at Marine Midland Trust Company. Wilder Grill will never be the same without Rog, his black bow tie, and all those nasty bottles. JimStyles is also in the training program for Marine Midland. Sam Bryan returned recently from a ten-week tour of Yugoslavia and Turkey taking movies (of whom?). Tony Piccolo is studying for his Master's in English at N.Y.U. Mike Duffy is teaching at Plymouth Academy in Plymouth, Mass. Mike Burnett is doing likewise at the Gunnery in Washington, Conn.

Arslanian has done it again. Undaunted by the efforts of Mr. and Mrs. Gnome Dayton, Oscar and Sue have come through with a baby boy tipping the scales at a hefty 8 pounds, 8½ ounces!!! Although this edges out boy-child Dayton by 7½ ounces, I must caution Jonathan Peter Arslanian that the Smallest of the Small still has seniority by virtue of age. If two of the smallest guys in the class can come through with such hefty babies, it tends to put the big boys to shame. Let's make this summer, "Fat Baby Sum- mer." Everybody think big thoughts and get out there and have really fat babies - rahrah.

Don Wells is reported to be looking good in his new Navy Officer's uniform. Don's getting his commission by way of OCS at Newport. Stew Sheldon should be just about finishing up his training at OCS too. Two more terrors for the fleet.

Bobby Hoagland finally did it! He and Jean Ure were married on December 30. The "Wrist" was attended by Tom Hewitt,Bob Marriott and Bud Schoening. Seeing that Hoags didn't get away before the properly appointed time were: Chuck andKathy Dayton, Tom and Mouse Hickey, Tom and Mari McBurney '60.

Karsten Craig Balsley, the new rocking son of Bob and Shari Balsley, has reportedly already begun training for his place in the ranks of the "Big Brothers of 1984." Bob reports that both his manager and trainer are beaucoup proud. Brother Balsley also passed along some good gossip re BrettMcEntagart, Art Bookstrom, and Jim White who are all romping around the frosty campus of Colorado U. Graduate School. "Brett has been seen painting faces (really bleary faces) on assorted bar room floors just for the price of a cool six; Art is looking for gold in 'Them Thar Hills' (No - 'Them Thar over-to-the-left-a-bit, the ones called Las Vegas'); while White sits by the hour on his haunches practicing spinning yarns - hoping someday to have his very own campfire."

I've put it off long enough - now comes the roster of the engagements, weddings, and all the sordid details that I know you love to hear. Actually, I kinda enjoy the engagement announcements, largely because the newspapers always print snaps of the girls and most of them are really lookers! This month's batch was no exception. Miss Martha Dyer is engaged to Tom Hooper. I imagine they intend to get married this summer when Tom has finished Tuck and Martha has graduated from Cazenovia. Miss Brenda Clucas has captured one of our most wily bachelors, Mike Hecht. Both Brenda and Mike are working for their M.A.'s which probably explains why she caught him - he's wily but she's smart. Miss Kate Warren, a senior at Middlebury, is engaged to Jim DeLong. Jim is employed by the Climax Molybdenum Co. of Colorado. Jim "The Sax" Watson and Miss Joan Starobin, both of Rye, N.Y., have announced their engagement. Jim is attending Law School at N.Y.U. and is a member of the new Dartmouth Club of N. Y. Miss Marcia Goodale and Albert "Budge" Graves have made public their plans to marry. Miss Goodale graduated from Colby Junior, Budge has attended Dartmouth and the Navy. Two really confirmed bachelors have been caught in the Tender Trap. Both are planning June weddings. Hank Gerfen and Miss Constance McCurdy; and Bob Marriott and Miss Janet Niehaus all exchanged rings late last year (clipping service is really slow). Good Luck Die-Hards. BillCollishaw and Miss Judy Newton plan to be wed next summer. Arslanian extends an open challenge, Shawman.

And now we have one Just-As-Planned for this month. Miss Martha Buck and Bill Cogswell were married December 30 in Bennington. John Zulick attended Willy. Bill and his wife will be living in Woonsocket, R. I., while hubby gets his Master's in teaching at Brown.

Time to hit the pub - everybody read "Franny and Zooey" and think Green thoughts.

Recently commissioned Ensigns at the Coast Guard Officer Candidate School in Yorktown, Va. were Ernest H. Latham '60 (l) and Russell A. Boss '61. Boss reports toBoston next for sea duty, and Latham has been assigned to Chicago.
