At the joint dinner for the Dartmouth Trustees and Alumni Council in January, the Council presented an Alumni Award to Albert Bradley '15 (right) in recognition for his distinguished career and his devotion to the College. Ellwood H. Fisher '21, shown making the award, read the following citation honoring Mr. Bradley:

In the world of affairs, you have graduated summa cum laude. As a member of the General Motors organization for thirty-nine years, you rose from a position on the comptroller's staff in 1919 to chairmanship of the Board of Directors in 1956. You have always been a dynamic and powerful leader of the huge industrial complex known world-wide as "G.M."

Dartmouth graduate, Class of 1915, you are the College's constant and devoted son. As Trustee, Overseer of Tuck School, and generous benefactor, the full extent of your service cannot be measured. With all the things you have done and are doing for this College, perhaps your greatest gift is that you — an industrial genius of our time - have always believed in the .importance of the liberal arts tradition to our country, and to the world.

Through the years, scores of honors have come your way. In 1954 Dartmouth took pride in according you her honorary degree of Doctor of Laws. You have been a trustee or director of many companies and foundations including the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Sloan Kettering Foundation, the Ethyl Corporation, the General Motors Acceptance Corporation, and others. You are a member of Phi Beta Kappa and you earned A.M. and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Michigan. Here on Hanover Plain there is a living monument to your profound belief in the highest principles of this institution ... the new, magnificent Albert Bradley Center for Mathematics.

We speak for thirty thousand Dartmouth men in proudly presenting to you the Dartmouth Alumni Award.
