Congratulations to Mabel (Mrs. Pitt Fessenden) Drew of Wakefield, R. I., on becoming a great-grandmother. Her daughter Sally's oldest child, Lt.(jg) Robert Satterlee Hurlbut Jr. of Antigua, the West Indies and his wife Ann W. (Gannett) had a daughter last October 17, Ann Wentworth. Sally's first husband, Dr. Robert S. Hurlbut Sr., died in World War II when the "U.S. Destroyer Halligan" was sunk off Okinawa by a floating mine. Later, Sally married James Todd Baldwin of Chestnut Hill, Mass., himself a veteran of the Navy, Flag Secretary to Admiral John, Dale Price.

Another message of congratulation to Herb Rogers, 85 on April 29.

Will and Carrie Hutchinson, who have been living of late with daughter Sarah and her husband William M. Glass in State College, Penn., have moved. Why not send a word of welcome to them at the United Presbyterian Home in Philipsburg, Penna? More good news too: Carrie is practically recovered from her serious operation.

Dr. F. Rodney Sanborn took a leave of absence from the ice and snow of the Northeast from early February to early April: three weeks at the beginning and also at the end of his vacation were spent in Miami, with due attention to the races at Hialeah. In between, a week at Nassau, a call at San Juan, and ten days at St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.

Last December the College learned that it was to receive $5,000 from the estate of Thomas T. Whittier as an endowment fund. The fund is to "be kept invested by the College and the annual income used for the benefit of the Thayer School of Engineering." Readers will recall other recent bequests from George G. Clark, Gus and Muriel Heywood, and Phil and Sadie Winchester.
