If you see these figures, 85-86-87, it is meant neither for a robot computer, nor for a football quarterback signal. It is the series of ages attained this month respectively by Warren Kendall, Ralph Hawkes, and TimLynch. Each of these three is in orbit this year between two homeplates: Warren between Sarasota and Kennebunk Beach; Ralph between York Beach and Arizona; Tim between Cotuit and Pinehurst. Warren and Helen have now successfully married off three of their four grandchildren: July, 1961, William Thomas Kendall to Mary Patricia Moses in Rockville Center, N. Y.; December, 1961, Warren Cleaveland Kennedy to Carolyn Janell Couch in Charlotte, N. C.; and March, 1962, Roberta Ann Kendall to Douglas Lamar Woodward in Louisville, Ky. Triple blessings on these three couples from the hearts of '99.

Ralph and Blanche left in mid-February by the southern route for Arizona. A rodeo in Tucson shut them out there, so they settled for Douglas near the Mexican border. They plan to be home by Easter with granddaughter Debby Tracy doing part of the driving on the return trip. As for Tim we wish him just two things: that he make his second hole in one, and that he join the Kendalls and the Hawkeses at the RoundUp, July 21 in the N. H. Highway Hotel in Concord.

Ned Baldwin's daughter Marion and her husband, Capt. Ray Tryon, bought a new home in Arlington, Va., after daughter Lianne's marriage. They had a short trip to New England last October, including a visit with Fred and Milly in St. Johnsbury. They brought back a baby balsam tree from Fred's place, and also got a rose hedge planted before the first snow. News from Jim and Helen Barney's sons and grandchildren: Wendell '29 in Winchester, Va., reports Bob after a year at VPI and two years in a local architect's office has enlisted in the Air Force for four years. Roger '37 in Brighton, Mich., says Jim and Jonathan are both in St. Paul's School, Concord, and Alice still in Wellesley. Barbara, daughter of Sam Burns, and her husband "Giff" Stewart had a month's vacation "in lovely Westport, Mass., last summer." Her sister Marjorie Cline's son Jerry is engaged to Francesca King, formerly of Cincinnati. His fiancee was his sister's school roommate for three years.

Herb Rogers is happy to be living so near Virginia in West Springfield, has dinner with her and her family almost daily. Charlie Davis '04 comes in to see him often, was Herb's chum at Tilton. Charlie's brother, Henry '96, was also an intimate friend. "Both were fine baseball players." Agnes (Mrs. Herbert) Watson writes from Belmont that she can look out across the road and see Laura's grave; she plans to make a pilgrimage there when spring really comes. BillWiggin's oldest daughter Ruth of Port Jarvis, N. Y., lost her husband Don Chase a year ago; they had long been companion teachers in the local high school. Ruth and a sister-in-law made a long swing last winter through the West and South, visiting relatives in Colorado and Texas before going on to Florida. Wig's first cousin, Mrs. Florence Carpenter of Boulder, is the mother of Malcolm Scott Carpenter, backup for Col. John Glenn, the U.S. orbital pilot. Now Carpenter has been chosen as the pilot for the next orbital flight.
