When you receive this issue of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE your 55th Reunion on June 8, 9, and 10 will be only a few days away and we hope that you have decided to be with us in Hanover on this momentous occasion.

Your class president, "Jim" O'Neill, is back in circulation again. Jim has been away on a lecture trip. He was in New York, April 15 on TV at N.B.C. and says: "Edith and I will not miss this reunion." Wonderful.

Frank McDonough Jr. of Palm Lake, Colo., in the 1962 spring issue of the magazine of Sigma Chi, wrote an excellent guest editorial: "Is Our House Crumbling?" I believe every one of his classmates would enjoy reading it for it is a masterpiece.

Dick Lane sent me page 7 of the Friday, April 6, 1962 issue of the Orinda Sun newspaper, Orinda, Calif., which lists George H.Hoyt in the obituary column through error. How it ever happened is a mystery for our George is one of the liveliest and busiest classmates on the Pacific Coast. He is senior member, American Society of Appraisers, Berkeley, Calif., and was principal speaker for the women's division, Contra Costa Real Estate Board, speaking on analysis of property listings compared to sales, and shared trade secrets on appraisals with the local group.

George is a member of the Society of Residential Appraisers, the Right of Way Association, past state director and past regional governor of nine Western states and Alaska and Hawaii. It was anticipated that the women's sponsored program would attract a capacity mixed audience with the result that George was publicized in the obituary column. That's one for the record!

Many of our classmates have been inquiring about "Judge" McLane and I am happy to report to you that John R. McLane Jr. writes: "My father is making some recovery in the past few months and he goes out driving with mother and enjoys it. His spirits are good." Judge, you have our very best wishes for complete recovery and soon.

Bill Ahern and Harry Pelren are out of the hospital and back home again. Their health is improving and they seem to be happy.

During the month of April three of our classmates have passed on: Earl T. Richards of Pawtucket, R. I., known to us as "Tim," Donald M. Houghton, "Don," of Greenville, N. H., and Charles W. T. Willson of Farmington, N. H. Time is surely running out on us all.

Cliff Norris of Warwick, R. I., notified your secretary of "Tim's" passing in time for Bill Sanborn and myself to reach Pawt ucket and pay a visit to Carlotta and the family at their residence on 19 Daniels Street.

N. Hobbs Knight of Ogunquit, Me., has sent me several pictures of great interest during our years in college, among them is a photograph showing "Hamp" Howe's fourhorse-drawn stage coaches that met us when we arrived as freshmen at the Norwich station in September 1903 and in 1907 conveyed many of us as passengers back to the Norwich station after Commencement when we were homeward bound. I have had some reprints made which I think will refresh your memory on your 55th Reunion. If you would care to have one, kindly let me know.

It is very interesting to note that Robert Heneage '37, son of our "Rip" and Marguerite Heneage, has been elected president of the Peerless Insurance Company. Congratulations, Robert!

The following 1907 classmates will be a year older in the month of June, and we wish you all a happy, healthy birthday: Barker, Harris, Holden, Jamison, Jennings, Martin, Stokes, Washburn, Wyman and Bill Sanborn.

Keep your letters coming my way and be sure to participate in the 1962 Alumni Fund Campaign. Let's do our best to make Bob Kenyon, our head Class Agent, happy. Hope to see you on the "campus" in a few days.
