This issue of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE should arrive just previous to our informal reunion which will take place during Commencement weekend, June 11, 12, and 13. We have been assigned to Middle Fayerweather which is an ideal location so we look forward to seeing you and old friends in Hanover.
Crick Crocker of Milton, Mass., my roommate in 1906-07 at the Proctor house with Eugene Brooks informs me that the wallpaper that was in our room at that time is now in a room on the court floor (down stairs) in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. It was hand made in France about 1815; has seven shades of gray, and has just recently been restored and hung. Crick says "It just took me back 59 years to walk into the room! It is beautiful. The College gave it to the museum about 1920 when the Proctor house was torn down."
Don Williams of Keene, N. H., writes that his 11th great-grandchild, Karen Orkins, was born April 13, 1965. By the way Don is feeling much better.
Edward Ashley of Evanston, Ill., who has recovered from the flu, has been to Louisville, Ky., Franklin, Indianapolis and Mitchell, Ind., and plans to be in Hanover in June, so he really has recovered his health. Grace D. Brown, widow of our classmate James B. Brown, passed away in April 1965. You will also be sorry to know that two more of our classmates have died; JamesGrant on April 7 and Wendall H. Churchill on April 21. See In Memoriam in this or a later issue.
The 1965 Alumni Fund campaign closes on June 30 and we hope that all of our living classmates will participate in this campaign for Dear Old Dartmouth regardless of the amount of the gift. 100% participation would be wonderful and make us all happy.
Classmates having birthdays in June are: Benjamin Washburn (1), Edward Barker (3), Robert Stokes and George Jamison (6), Edward Harris (11), and William Martin (20). A Happy, Healthy Birthday to all of you.
I was delighted to receive a letter from Mrs. H. Richardson Lane (Lucy) of 8 West Hill Place, Boston, Mass., who forwarded some of Dick's Dartmouth papers and photos of classmates which is very thoughtful of her. Many thanks. Lucy is looking forward to going to West Falmouth, Cape Cod, Mass., on July 1 for the summer season, where she and Dick always enjoyed life.
Your secretary has just received word that George E. Liscomb is at the Concord, N. H., Hospital recuperating from a heart attack.
That's all the news I have at this time. Keep your letters coming my way. See you in June on the 11, 12 and 13.
