The College community was saddened as the Freshman Week began with the news from Duluth, Minn., that two undergraduates were killed in an auto accident there while returning to campus. Four students from Great Falls, Mont., were traveling East together. Two, L. Patrick Bailey '66 and Terry C. McGovern '65, were killed, and the other two, Erick W. Austin '65 and Glen E. Kilpatrick '66, were hospitalized in very serious condition.

Two other Dartmouth undergraduates lost their lives in auto accidents this summer. James M. Forney '65 was killed in an accident near his Storrs, Conn., home. Thomas H. Ralston IV '65, of Philadelphia, an Alpha Theta fraternity brother of Forney's as well as a classmate, lest his life in a New Jersey accident.
