Seaver Peters '54 has been appointed Associate Director of Athletics in charge of physical education and intramural sports. Peters, who is currently Assistant Comptroller of the College, will assume his new duties on September 1. This is a new position established by the consolidation last year of physical education and intercollegiate athletics under the overall direction of the Director of Athletics. Peters, who is a former hockey captain, was Business Manager of the Dartmouth College Athletic Council during the 1959-60 academic year.

Two more winter sports captains have been announced. John Carpenter will become the second man in as many years to captain two teams during a college year. The 20-year-old junior from Johnstown, N.Y., has been named captainelect of the 1963-64 hockey team. He ranked fourth in scoring this winter with 28 goals in 20 games. Last fall he was elected captain of the 1963 soccer team.

During the present school year Bill King is captain of the football and lacrosse teams. This is an honor seldom attained by a student.

Rick DuPuy of Quincy, Ill. will captain the 1963-64 wrestling team. He wrestled at 130 pounds this, winter until an injury to his elbow sidelined him late in February.

On mentioning the alpine champion- ships held on Mt. Alyeska in Alaska, we should note that Jim Branch '52 is manager of Alyeska and that he did an outstanding job in helping to put on this ski meet, the first of its kind held in the new state.
