This is a final pleasant task before departing for Class Officers' weekend and is undertaken duringa heavy spring snowfall — not unexpected in this area, but nevertheless not welcomed, either. No '42"'s have been snowed in, as the following items indicate plenty of get-up and go.

John Perkins has been elected vice president of the State Bank and Trust Company of Boston. Since joining the bank in 1947 he has been with the trust department and will continue there in his new capacity. He is treasurer and director of the Massachusetts Civic League and is on the development council and alumni finance committee of Babson Institute. In World War II he served with the Army Air Force. Bob Conway has been elected vice president of the Fisher Foods, Inc., a retail food chain with headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. Leo Caproni is now manager of national accounts for AutoBAR Systems, a division of AMETEK, Inc. AutoßAß's beverage control system has found strong acceptance in the hotel industry. The firm's "cocktailmatic" automatically and uniformly dis- penses Manhattan and Martini cocktails. This merits looking into! Leo and Joanna live in New York City.

Bill Mitchcl has been appointed director of public relations programs for Ford Motor Company's public relations staff. In 1946 after World War II service in the Navy, Bill began his career with Ford and has since held a number of major positions on the public relations staff. He served as executive secretary of the company's 50th anniversary observance in 1953 and subse quently as manager of special services and assistant manager of public relations projects and services. In 1955 he was appointed the company's first stockholder relations manager and four years later became field manager. In 1961 he was named manager of public communication. He lives in Dearborn, Mich.

Since 1960 he had been director of medical research for Merck Sharpe & Dohme Research Laboratories and for the seven years before that he had served as sen- ior staff physician for the Upjohn Co. in Kalamazoo, Mich. Joe McCormick is head of the American Production and Inventory Control Society, Providence chapter, education and research committee. He is with the U.S. Rubber Company, Woonsocket, R. I. Efforts in this behalf have been directed toward creating a closer relationship between the organization and the faculty and students at colleges and universities in the Providence area. Chapter members have offered their services to lecture students upon request. Joe reports considerable success in this undertaking. A "Most Deserving Student" award - the APICS Award - was a highlight of this program.

This final paragraph is as current as material can be - it was written between sessions during Class Officers weekend at Hanover. Your officers and executive committee have been busy with class affairs - item: Planning ahead in anticipation of a tremendous Twenty-Fifth Reunion and its many important implications to the Class and to the College. Lest you become concerned that this has been an all-business weekend, Kikiand Ad Winship most graciously entertained the '42 contingent in their lovely colonial home. It has been thoroughly enjoyable for Bettie and me to share this weekend with them and with Al Britton, Gaby and Ira Berman, Charlie Brown, Bob Kirk, Maggie and Krete Kreter, Ruthie and Bob Strasenburgh, Nancy and Guy Swenson, Dick Lippman and Dick Baldwin - all of whom represented the Class. In spite of 25 intervening years, these gentlemen appear to have stepped right out of the Little Green Book! This weekend has been heart-warming and inspiring. Alumni support for the College is stronger than ever and growing steadily.
