Since many of us will be seeing each other at the "Fabulous Fifth," which will soon take place, I will try to keep the news to a minimum so that the hot items can be spread by the horse's mouth.
Fran and Jerry Allyn are proud to announce the arrival of a daughter, Laura Elizabeth, born on April 8. Jerry tells me that his family is in the process of building their own Dartmouth Club. Here is how it starts. Jerry married Fran Werner, twin sister of Jerry's roommate, Sam Werner. To continue, Jerry's sister, Karyl Allyn, will marry Rog Condit, this June. Being a native of New Hampshire, Jerry finds the transition a little rough. However, both Fran and he are enjoying the casual life in Albuquerque, N. M., where Jerry is a Mechanical Engineer with the Sandia Corp.

The Lucky Guy of the Month Award for the class goes to Fred Webster, currently a graduate student in business administration at Stanford University. He has been selected as one of three students from that university to participate in "Journey for Perspective," a summer European travel-study program underwritten by the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co. for twelve students from four large Western universities. He'll fly to Europe with the dean of his school for a three-week series of meetings and seminars with industrialists, businessmen, and government authorities. Following the meetings he'll have an additional fellowship to remain in Europe for a month for individual study and research.
"They said it couldn't be done, but this week I finally did it. . . went out, had a few interviews, and landed a job with the copyright and trade mark law firm of Nims, Halliday, Whitman, Hawes and Collinson." So says George Kelley who has finally succumbed to the inevitable , way of life - work. George writes that Barry Mahoney has taken a leave of absence from the State Attorney General's Office for a six months' vacation with Uncle Sam. Also, Sig Ginsburg is public information officer at Fort Hamilton. Ariel Halpern is manipulating the "market" at Goldman, Sachs.
Jerry Robinson, recuperating from injuries received in an auto accident, anxiously awaits assuming his position as Managing Editor of the Kittering-Eliot Star, in Kittery, Me.
Ken Robertson, in his fourth year at Harvard Medical School, will intern at the Minneapolis General Hospital. Also in his fourth year at Harvard, Murray Towle will intern at Philadelphia General Hospital. John Remmers, another Harvard Med product, will be interning at the Boston City Hospital (Harvard Service). Bill Boyle and Jim Penza will begin a two-year rotating internship at Mary Hitchcock Hospital beginning July 1.
In a Hopkins Center concert entitled "Three of a Kind" the Glee Clubs of Brown,directed by Erich Kunzel '57 (l); Yale, directed by Bruce Mclnnes '59 (r); and Dartmouth, directed by Paul Zeller, presented an evening of song. Mclnnes and Kunzelare former members of the Dartmouth Glee Club and former students of Prof. Zeller.
