In an attempt to keep you up-to-date with the goings on of our fast moving classmates I will endeavor to fill this column with a few brief words on several '59's. RodgerAgre and Rog Miller are in their final year of medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Pete Andrews is down in Princeton doing graduate work - field unknown. Fritz Arens has just been released from the Navy and can be reached in Wellesley Hills, Mass. Dave Baker is completing his medical studies at Dalhousie University, Halifax, N. S. Bob Bartholomew holds a position of Field Epidemiologist with the U. S. Public Health Service (i.e. Epidemiology — the branch of medicine dealing with epidemic diseases) in Los Angeles. GeorgeBeardsley is a city planner for the Pittsburgh Regional Planning Association and is living in Pittsburgh. John Beck is living in Milwaukee where he is an account executive for Francis I. du Pont and Co. BobBerg is a sales trainee for Vision Inc. BillBeshore is presently with the U.S. Gypsum Co. in Los Angeles, as a sales supervisor of building materials. Joe Blumstein is a salesman for Frederick H. Hatch & Co. in New York City. Dave Britton is preparing some good Dartmouth prospects by teaching English at Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh.
Sober Jim Burke is the advertising representative for Falstaff Brewing Corp. in Omaha, Nebr., so don't be surprised to see Falstaff flowing in the '59 tent at the "Fabulous Fifth." By the way, if you haven't sent your card in which indicates your attendance plans, please do so in order to give Tom Seessel a hand in setting up a good time for all. As an added attraction your class secretary will be there and plans to offer a special prize to some lucky '59 this column.
Back to more news. Jim Burner is going like a house on fire with the Northern Illinois Gas Co. in Aurora. Dave Burton is now down in Big Spring, Texas, at Webb AFB as an Instructor Pilot. Tom Chatfield and MaiSwenson are studying at Harvard Business School. Kurt Christiansen is a salesman for the Scott Paper Co. in San Mateo, Calif.
Rudy LaRusso continues to make print in the nation's sports pages. In a recent column in the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner, Sports Editor, George Davis, featured Rudy as a player who fits into any and all Patterns. In Lakers' coach Fred Schaus' words: "LaRusso is a coach's dream, a type of player who'll fit in any pattern. ... How about those 50 points he scored in the final game of the '61-'62 season? ... He has been one of our most important men in shooting, rebounding, defense, and team play." I can well imagine Doggie Julian wishing Rudy was back to help cool off Princeton's hotshot.
Well enough for now. Remember, keep the news coming in and keep your eye on the "Fabulous Fifth."
