Every team is destined to have an off year and this appears to be the one for the Dartmouth Rugby Club. The usual report of a winning season is marred with the news that the "A" team has won only two matches while losing three.

As reported last month, the ruggers lost to Harvard in the opener, but the following week they came back strong to beat Brown 12-6. They then went on to top Cornell 27-0. But injuries and lack of depth have hurt and their last two matches have both been in the loss column.

The annual Hartford Cup game, sponsored by the Dartmouth Club of Hartford, saw the Indians bow to Yale 8-5. Tom Rucker at the hooker position and Terry Bentley at wing forward teamed up for the lone Dartmouth score; Rucker blocked an Eli kick and Bentley fell on the loose ball. Jack Huber and Lee Bateman also played good ball in this game. The difference, however, was the Yale kicking, which was very effective.

Over Green Key Weekend the rugby team lost the Carling Cup match to the Quebec All-Stars 5-3. Again the Green could not match the kicking game of its opponent.

Three key men currently sidelined with injuries are Tom Campion, Don Burris, and Terry Bentley. At the same time, the team has not had its usual depth. Some men who were counted on did not turn out this spring. In particular Don McKinnon, whose professional contract with the Boston Patriots makes him ineligible for play.
