This will be the shortest column ever typed by me, and also the latest filed; today is Columbus Day ... not that that makes any difference, for college classes and business go on as usual while many of you are having a holiday.

And that includes a very small group of fortunate few who are at Bonnie Oaks still, after the Princeton-game reunion there. We had the largest group ever, and in many ways one of the very best. One important fact is that each year we add others who have never joined us before; this year, notably Ted Lamb and his wife. She had not been with us before, but we know she had a good time and will come again. Ted is speaking at Tuck School this morning; wish I could hear him but I'll be doing my own talking in class at that time.

Let's see how many I can remember who stayed at Bonnie Oaks with us, and survived very cold nights and even a bit of snow Saturday night. As I have my list, there were the Frenches, Harringtons, Hartshorns, Gallups, Bosses, Nilsens, Kearns, the Charlie Woods (there are three Wood classmates), McColloms, Maloneys, Jimmy Reids and family, Pattens, Bents, Rutherfords, Bowmans, Arn Jenkins, Lonsdales, Higleys, Herseys, Wheatleys, Schoonmakers, both Doug Craig (regretfully not Doris, who sent son Jim and wife in her place), the Bevo Beers, Spauldings, Solly Thurstons, Van Huycks, Lamsons (and one of their daughters and her Princeton husband), the Al Burkes, and the Aliens. We had some cancellations: the Larry Kugelmans' son is being operated on today and so they had to cancel, the Arn Georges, the Dave Dyches. Add the Bob Smiths, who decided to stay over; and Doc Graham - delighted to see him after many years' absence - who came up with the Craigs.

At dinner we may have sat down as many as 85; surely close to it. There were the Wilburs (Don has just announced his retirement) and the Crosses; Morins, Don Bartletts, Tuppers, Fendersons, the Alex Gibsons, and Chick Austins; probably more whom I have missed in the furor. (And I do mean furor, for I had regular classes Saturday; then our meeting on Observatory slope, with tailgate lunches and cheer; also out-of-town close friends and relatives, and the Phil Wagners '23, my two-years'-roommate; sitting in a scattered pattern at the game; and then the shifting group at Bonnie Oaks. Please forgive if I've missed YOU ... and write to tell me so, as I'd like an accurate record.

Seen only at the game - some by me but many reported to me only: the Gordon Bridges, Athertons, Foleys, Bleike Reed (now retired to Hanover from the Telephone Company), Bob Morgan, Ken Davis, Sumner (Genesis) Turner, Win Sturtevant, Larry Marshall, Warren Whitney (rarely seen here). Then there were tickets sold to many others, but not specifically reported to me or seen: Al Bloom, Win Sturtevant, Roy Linnekin, Bob Borwell, John Giffin (lives nearby but rarely seen - come back soon, John), Ted Goddard, Al Burke, Bill Gorton, Jim Taylor, Ev Curran, Norm Everett, Bill DuBois, Ed Spargo, Larry Stone, Paul Gordon, Ted Lyons, Wes Blake.

So we had fun; weather was overcast, but no rain until nearly 5 p.m. ... with a wonderful Friday and Sunday, too, for those who came early and stayed over. Now make your plans; next year we'll be at Bonnie Oaks again, and the game is the Penn game, October 3. First come, first served with your reservation requests to me; several have already put theirs in. Will you join us this time?
