The Dartmouth Club of Tokyo held its first meeting of the New Year with cocktails at the Breers and a feast at a local Chinese gastronomic palace. Present at the meeting were Club President Masuo Iwanami '25A, Etsuko and Sam Yamada (Mr. Iwanami's daughter and son-in-law), Ted Yasuda '58s, the proud father of a new baby girl, and newcomers to Tokyo, Don McQuaig '54 and his wife, Judy. We were also glad to see Jim Blair '62, just arrived from an extended tour on the USS Voladoc. Also present was Nobuyuki Ono '63s, just back from a year m Hanover and now studying at the University of Tokyo. We were glad to get in touch with Tsutomu Sasa who was an assistant at the Medical School for two years and lived in Hanover with his wife and two children.

Chick Onodera '57s did an excellent job as Emcee, in both English and Japanese (as a part-time job, he is doing this every Saturday at weddings in Tokyo). We missed Chick Igaya '57, who made the arrangements for the party, but was unable to come at the last minute. Chick, incidentally, has just been made a director of American International Underwriters, Inc. Nice going, Chick. We also missed the presence of TonyMartin '33 who left Christmas Eve for an extended stay in Europe.

Alan Smith 'SO, who is now with the Japanese Foreign Ministry, came for cocktails, but had to leave early as did the HiroshiFukudas '57s. Also on hand were Sukemichi Ushioda (father of Sukekatsu '64), NobuMitsui '43, who managed to tear himself away from the Japan Dude Ranch Golf Club, the Kisuk Cheungs '53, Yoji Hirota28A, and the Dick Repkos '48.
