Alumni College Filled

Some 212 sons and daughters of Dartmouth have (hopefully) said their goodbyes to Ben Casey, Perry Mason, Gil Favor, and the rest of their friends on the big gray eye and have plunged into their homework for the upcoming Dartmouth Alumni College. There are many evenings of meaty reading in the eight books recently mailed to them and many hours of careful thought ahead if they start pondering the questions on the books prepared and sent to them for their pre-class warm-up by the Alumni College faculty.

Meanwhile, back on the campus the Alumni College's director, J. Michael McGean '49, and the planning committee headed by Ellis O. Briggs '21 are putting together an eleven-day schedule that includes evenings of music, drama, and international relations - and fellowship — in addition to the curriculum served up by the faculty. There will be programs in athletics and the arts for those among the 63 children who are old enough to participate in them.

The mid-April enrollment figure is made up of 20 singles and 96 couples. Admission will be granted to those alumni and wives on the waiting list if any attrition develops.
