Woodrow Wilson National Fellowships for graduate study were won by ten seniors and one alumnus this spring. Two other seniors gained honorable mention.
The eleven Dartmouth recipients and their fields of study are: Larry M. Ayres '64, Lewiston, Pa., history of art; Charles W. Coffin Jr. '64, Birmingham, Mich., English; Stephen J. Cutler '64, Andover, Mass., sociology; Clinton B. Darling '64, Laconia, N. H., French; Peter M. Fine '64, Brooklyn, N. Y., French; Wayne H. Flagg '64, Rutland, Vt., physics; Fred S. Roberts '64, New York, mathematics; Clifford S. Russell '60, Holyoke, Mass., economics; Irving C. Tullar '64, Eliza- beth, N. J., comparative literature; Eric P. Veblen '64, Santa Barbara, Calif., political science; and Vallance A. Wickens III '64, Concord, N. H., philosophy.
The fellowships, designed to help promising students for the college teaching profession through their first year of graduate study, provide tuition and fees, plus an $1800 stipend and dependency allowance.
Another senior, Nevin D. Schreiner of Elizabeth, N. J., was added to the list of award winners for the College's James B. Reynolds Scholarships for Foreign Study. Seven other award recipients were named earlier. Schreiner will study English at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford.
