Club Officers Meet in Hanover

Thirteen college officers, three student leaders, and sixteen panelists from the ranks of the 73 alumni club officers gathered for the annual Club Officers Weekend, September 24-25, contributed to a varied and informative program.

On the first afternoon the representatives of some 55 clubs, from as far west as Arizona, as far south as Puerto Rico, and as far north as Toronto and Montreal, heard Secretary of the College J. Michael McGean '49 speak on the Dartmouth Alumni College, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Leonard M. Rieser '44 on the changing Dartmouth curriculum, Director of Development George H. Col ton '35 on College fund-raising programs, and Director of Admissions Edward T. Chamberlain '36 on the Class of 1969 and ongoing admissions efforts.

After a break for dinner and bonfire viewing the club officers heard and questioned Dean of the College Thaddeus Seymour and a student panel representing three major areas of student life outside the classroom.

At breakfast next morning ten College officers participated in a question-and-answer session covering all facets of the Dartmouth program. The remainder of the morning was devoted to alumni club problems and programs, touching on membership, dinners, special events, and communications. President of the Club Officers Association William W. Parmer '42 was assisted by panel moderators Henry H. Williams Jr. '49, Michael R. Pender '47, John W. Barto '52, and Delwyn J. Worthington '26.

President Dickey spoke to the group at the dinner following the football game with the University of New Hampshire. Awards were presented to Thomas O. Malcolm '54, Dartmouth Club of Philadelphia, Club President of the Year; and Henry H. Williams Jr. '49, Berkshire County (Mass.) Dartmouth Club, Club Secretary of the Year.

The new officers of the Club Association elected during the weekend are John W. Barto '52, president; Henry H. Williams Jr. '49, vice president; David E. Orr '57, secretary; and Edmund R. Senghas '47, Lawrence H. Schwartz '58, and Richard A. Watson '59, Executive Committee.
