Director of Public Programs

The new position of Director of the Office of Public Programs and appointment of Nichol M. Sandoe Jr. '45 as its first occupant have also been approved by the Trustees. Mr. Sandoe, formerly Executive Secretary of the Alumni Fund and Associate Director of Development, has most recently been Assistant to the Vice President with responsibility in the general area of public relations.

Mr. Sandoe will coordinate the College's Bicentennial planning. He will be in charge of arrangements for Commencement, the opening Convocation, Freshman Fathers Weekend, and similar public functions, and he will continue to serve as director of Dartmouth Horizons and related activities. His office will handle the College's representation at the ceremonial and other public programs of other institutions.
