Student Editors Produce Special Alumni Issue
MAY 1965

Resplendently garbed in an original cover design (shown above) by John R. Scotford '38, the Alumni Issue of Greensleeves made its appearance on the Dartmouth campus in late April. Compiled and produced by the undergraduate editorial staff of Greensleeves and dedicated to "the Dartmouth Literary Tradition," it contains selections from the work of sixteen alumni authors and three alumni artists, chosen as a representative sampling of a much larger body of writers and artists.

Writers included are Carlos Baker '32, Evan Connell '45, Richard Eberhart '26, Brock Brower '53, Philip Booth '47, Frank Gilroy '50, Kimball Flaccus '33, Budd Schulberg '36, Robert Pack '51, Reuel Denney '32, David Wang '55, Samuel French Morse '36, Burton Bernstein '53, Richmond Lattimore '26, Robert May '26, and William Cahn '34.

In addition to Mr. Scotford, Paul Sample '20 and Abner Dean '31 have contributed art work.

Mr. Scotford's cover uses a new. type face of his own design, Scotford Uncial, a design that won a fourth-place cash prize and royalty contract for him in the recent National Type Face Design Competition conducted by the Visual Graphics Corporation of New York.

Contributors to Greensleeves' effort to erase its long-standing debt will be mailed both the Alumni Issue and the regular undergraduate issue for Spring 1965 soon after the publication of the latter for Green Key. Others may obtain the Alumni Issue by sending $1.00 to Greensleeves, P.O. Box 145, Hanover, N. H.
