Prize Class Agent
JUNE 1959

Kevin I. Sullivan '54, top Class Agent among the ten youngest classes in 1958, received the John R. Mason Trophy at the May 1 dinner of class officers in Hanover. Donald F. Sawyer '21, Alumni Fund chairman, made the presentation and read the following citation:

Kevin I. Sullivan, Head Class Agent of the Class of 1954: Now in your fifth year as Head Agent you have served your Class and College well ever since graduation. The record shows that each year 1954 has set new class records in both participation and dollars starting with a fine first year record of 414 contributors for $3,700, and increasing to 510 givers and over $5,000 in 1957. That same year you added 70 new givers to your previous campaign record to lead all alumni classes in this respect. Last year, despite the fact that some of your classmates were not solicited for the Alumni Fund because of the Capital Gifts Campaign, you succeeded in obtaining 491 gifts and again exceeded $5,000. With a highly organized team of fine agents, with a carefully planned class campaign and a strong mailing program you have demonstrated the type of imaginative leadership which has made Dartmouth's younger classes such an important source of strength and growth for the Alumni Fund. We know that the Class of 1954 will continue its alumni leadership in all fields of service to Dartmouth during the years ahead, and the Alumni Fund Committee takes pride in honoring you and your Class this evening by presenting you, as the outstanding Head Agent of the youngest ten alumni classes, with the John R. Mason Trophy for 1958.
