The eighth annual Jacob Ziskind Memorial Lectures, sponsored by the William Jewett Tucker Foundation, were delivered by Prof. Robert N. Bellah of Harvard University. Titled "The Crisis in Meaning: Japan, Asia, and the West," the lectures by Professor Bellah, a scholar in the sociology of religion who has devoted a decade to the study of Japanese religion and the social changes it effects, were related to the program on "Japan: Classical and Contemporary."
