Presidents and secretaries of 49 Dartmouth alumni organizations were on campus September 23-24 for the annual Club Officers Weekend to participate in a busy schedule that included panel discussions on "how we do it" by members of their own group, an address by President Dickey, talks by members of the College staff and faculty, a session with undergraduates, and the opening game of the football season.

The weekend activities began on Friday afternoon with a talk by Associate Professor of Mathematics Donald L. Kreider, who described the evolution of computers and the effect the new Kiewit Computation Center will have on the Dartmouth student body. Professor Kreider's talk was followed by reports by Director of Public Programs Nichol M. Sandoe Jr. '45 on the planning for the Bicentennial and by Director of Admissions Edward T. Chamberlain Jr. '36 on the new enrollment organization.

Following the annual buffet dinner in Alumni Hall for officers and their wives, Associate Dean of the College Charles F. Dey '52 was moderator for a panel of students, including Benjamin Moore '67, president of the Players; Richard W. Clapp '67, president of Palaeopitus and a tutor in the ABC Project; and George Linkletter II '65, a graduate student in geology who had spent the summer on a research project in the Arctic with Professor Andrew H. McNair. On Saturday morning the officers were informed of new directions in the College's development programs by Vice President of the College George H. Col ton '35 before turning to workshop sessions on club activities. Edward R. Senghas '47 of the Bergen County, N. J., club, moderated the panel on "The On-going Purpose of an Alumni Club." Speakers were Russell C. Dilks '51, Philadelphia; Robert A. Martin '54, Detroit; Edwin T. Rice '52, Hartford; and John C. Trimble '58, Essex and Morris County, N. J.

A second panel, on "Communication and Social Purposes," was moderated by Henry H. Williams Jr. '49, Berkshire County, Mass., who was assisted in the presentation by Cornwall Miller '39, Southeastern Connecticut; Richard Watson '59, Hartford; Roger A. Antaya '44, Baltimore; and Carlton J. Ward '32, Northern California and Nevada.

President Dickey's address to the officers on the nature of the College as both a liberal arts college and a university-type institution preceded a buffet luncheon and the football game. At Saturday night's gathering at the Outing Club House, Mr. Miller was named Club President of the Year; and Mr. Senghas was honored with the Club Secretary of the Year award.

Newly elected officers for the Club Officers' Association are Mr. Williams, president; Mr. Watson, vice president; David E. Orr '57, secretary; and Mr. Senghas, David J. Steinberg '55, and Andrew E. Schmidt '36, executive committee.
