On Friday, June 10, the Club held a dinner meeting at the Peninsular Club in Grand Rapids. The men from Western Michigan recently admitted to the Class of 1970 were invited to attend along with their parents as guests of the Club. Grant J. Gruel Jr. '54, president, presided at a short business meeting during which the club adopted a constitution and elected officers and an executive committee for the 1966-1967 year. Elected as officers were Richard C. Gates '54, president; Robert J. Eleveld '58, secretary; and John S. Edison '56, treasurer. Serving on the executive committee along with the officers will be Richard B. Foster Jr. '56 and Peter S. Sheldon '61 from Lansing; Howard J. Pullen '20 from Battle Creek; Homer G. Bogart '44 from Kalamazoo; Willard E. Wolfe '51 from Belmont; and Grant.J. Gruel Jr. '54, Philip W. Goodspeed '49, and Philip F. Wood '58 from Grand Rapids.
Coach Blackman was the featured speaker of the evening and everyone was thrilled by being brought up-to-date on the Hanover scene, 1966 style, as well as getting firsthand information on the undefeated football campaign of 1965. The meeting was closed by showing the 1965 football highlight films and, needless to say, no one left until the last play of the Princeton game disappeared from the screen.
