SEPARATE graduation exercises for the Thayer and Tuck Schools were held Sunday, June 4, on the Stell Hall lawn. Dean William P. Kimball '28 was the Commencement speaker at the Thayer School program, at which President Dickey conferred 25 Master's degrees, including nine in civil engineering, five in electrical engineering, six in mechanical engineering and five in engineering and business administration. The degree candidates were presented by Edward S. Brown Jr. '34, Professor of .Civil Engineering. W. Raymond Evans Jr. '48 of Yeadon, Pa., received the Dartmouth Society of Engineers Prize for his paper, "A Method for Locating an Ellipse in Space," arid Warren F. Daniel Jr. '48 of Millinocket, Me., was awarded the Charles F. and Ruth D. Goodrich Prize for outstanding achievement. A reception for graduates and their guests was held after the exercises in Thayer Hall.
Charles J. Zimmerman '23, Associate Managing Director of the Life Insurance Management Association, was the speaker at the Tuck School exercises, at which 69 students received Master of Commercial Science degrees. The Herman Feldman Memorial Prize was awarded to Alan H. McAlister '48 of Manchester, N. H., while the James A. and Sarah M. Hamilton Prize in Administration was presented to Richard M. Hook '49 of Swarthmore, Pa. Dean Herluf V. Olsen '22 presided at the graduation ceremony and President Dickey conferred the degrees.
