President John Sloan Dickey restated the basic purposes of Dartmouth College at the annual Spring Dinner Meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of the Northwest in Minneapolis on March 21, 1966. For the many alumni concerned about Dartmouth in the era of the "multi-versity" and the student revolution, the President's articulation of the concept of the College as a unified institution with concern toward the whole man was most gratifying.
Included with alumni and their wives were parents and present students, and, from the College, Cliff Jordan '45 and CharlesBreed '51. However, we were sorry to have missed Alumni Fund Chairman Rupert C.Thompson Jr. '28, who was originally scheduled to attend. The fine turnout was pri- marily due to the efforts of Bill Cullen '59 with over-all arrangements being handled by outgoing club president Jim Rogers '51, who presided at the dinner. The program included a review of the activities of the past year, and a fine report on the Regional Scholarship Fund presented by Chairman John Faegre '33.
Officers of the Association for the next year will be Bill Thayer '49, president, and Dave Heegaard '55, vice president. LymanWakefield '33 will continue as our indispen- sable treasurer.
