MARCH 1968 NORMAN R. CARPENTER '53

On Saturday, December 23, 1967 the Christmas season in the Northwest was celebrated by Dartmouth alumni, present students, and parents at a stag buffet lunch at the Interlachen Country Club in Minneapolis. The annual event was this year under the able direction of Scott McKown '57. The Football Highlights" film for the 1967 season provided the program.

Aside from the usual financial crises, a recent executive committee meeting (known as Ex Comm) also found a new problem in the processing of 25% more applicants for we class of 1972 from the Northwest area. Chairman Jim Rogers '51 deserves credit for this increase in applicants, especially from many outstanding boys outside the major metropolitan area, but TomKeller '55 has now the task of arranging for interviews of these applicants by members of the Association volunteering for this important activity.

Ex Comm also discussed student rioting, but what alumni group — of any school - hasn't?

Plans are also being made for President Dickey's visit on March 25, when a dinner is scheduled at the Thunderbird Motel in Bloomington. We hope for a large and enthusiastic turn-out.
