Coach Whitey Burnham intends to build his squad around a nucleus of six returning lettermen. Still in early practice, he feels he has a good stock of sophomore talent on hand. Captain Fred Palmer '68, Rochester, N. Y., will start at outside left on the line; with senior Ed Heald, Hudson, Ohio, and junior Leon Myrianthopoulos, Nicosia, Cyprus, at fullback. Senior goal-tender Bob McGee, Englewood, Colo., returns; and junior Dick Moon, Birmingham, Mich., and senior Dave Knapp, Canton, Ohio, will serve to strengthen weak positions as they develop. Coach Burnham has scheduled scrimmages with Castleton State College and the University of Vermont prior to the season opener with Middlebury in Hanover, September 30.
Ivy League action could be dominated by Brown this fall, seeking its fifth straight Ivy soccer crown. Yale and Harvard both have experienced squads. Soph talent could tell the story for Dartmouth.
