Club Secretary of the Year
NOVEMBER 1967

Robert M. Burrill '50 (1), secretary of the Dartmouth Club of Cape Cod, was hon- ored as the Club Secretary of the Year at the annual meeting in Hanover, October 7. J. Michael McGean '49 (r), Secretary of the College, read the following citation:

Secretary for over a decade and now President of the Dartmouth Club of Cape Cod, we salute you for accomplishments which deserve recognition throughout the Dartmouth family.

Though your Club roll lists only 150 alumni, size has proven no handicap. Your monthly luncheons averaged thirty men, the annual meeting attracted 85 men and wives, and your mid-winter scholarship dance was a smashing success. To back up these activities over 55% of your members paid dues last year.

As Secretary you were the vital communication link with your membership. Your letters, cards, and an effective telephone committee helped to boost attendance. All of this meant many hours of work for an already busy executive.

You lead a full life outside the Dartmouth orbit. You are a member of the Nauset Regional School Board and Chairman of your local Republican Committee, and belong to numerous other civic organizations. And we should add you are the father of six children.

Dartmouth men from Provincetown to the Cape Cod Canal appreciate your fine work and last June elected you President for the coming year. We are delighted to acknowledge your splendid work on behalf of the College by naming you Club Secretary of the Year.
