Dr. James C. Strickler '50 has returned to the campus as Associate Professor of Medicine and Associate Dean of the Medical School. In addition to his research program and concerning himself with student affairs, Dr. Strickler will give special attention to plans for the restoration of a four-year program for the Medical School.

His career to date well qualifies him for this project. For the past two years he was involved with policy and planning for the Medical Center at Cornell University and was in charge of the teaching program for third and fourth-year students in the Department of Medicine. He contributed largely to plans for the new clinical clerkship introduced this fall at Cornell, where his titles were Assistant Professor of Medicine and Assistant to the President of the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center.

A member of Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. Strickler attended Dartmouth Medical School with the Class of 1951 and was graduated from Cornell Medical College in 1953. He interned at New York Hospital and returned there as Assistant Resident after two years as a naval medical officer. He subsequently became Chief Resident in Medicine and joined the faculty. He has received a Career Scientist Award from the Health Research Council of New York. He and Mrs. Strickler are the parents of three sons and two daughters.
