A small but vigorous group turned out for the first meeting of the year of the Southeastern Massachusetts Club. Following a fine roast beef dinner President Nathaniel D. Ryder '24 called the meeting to order. Charles "Chick" Geilich '51, chairman of enrollment, was empowered to arrange with other Boston area clubs to plan a joint dinner for enrollees with good football potential. A nominating committee consisting of Kenneth E. Sampson '31, chairman, C. Gardner Akin Jr. '23, and H. JamesStone '19 was appointed to report at the annual meeting in the spring.

The main speaker of the evening was Fletcher Clark Jr. '12. His reminiscences as an officer during World War I were fascinating. With eloquence and vivid descriptions he led us from Officers' Candidate School in Plattsburgh to England and thence to the Vosges Mountains of France where so many doughboys lost their lives. It was a memorable evening.
