Third Composer for Summer.
MARCH 1967

The distinguished Swiss composer Frank Martin has joined Aaron Copland and Hans Werner Henze on the Summer Term music faculty as a composer-in-residence at the 1967 Congregation of the Arts at the College's Hopkins Center.

This will be composer Martin's first appearance in the United States. He will be in residence at Hopkins Center June 26 to July 9, during which time he will lecture and assist in four concerts of his works.

Among the works which have brought him international recognition, and which make his forthcoming visit to this country "a major musical event," are the Petite Symphonie Concertante; the Concerto for Harpsichord and Small Orchestra; the Concerto for Seven Wind Instruments, Timpani, Percussion, and Strings; the Oratorios Le Vin Herbe and In TerraPax; and the Violin Concerto.
