For the second year, Dartmouth Alumni College went on the road last month with Alumni Seminars in the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest. The topic of study at both seminars, sponsored by the Dartmouth Club of Portland and the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Cincinnati, was "Science, Government, and Man's Fate." Prof. Harold L. Bond '42 of the English Department and Prof. Reese T. Prosser of the Mathematics Department traveled from Hanover to lecture and lead the alumni in discussion of the assigned reading.
In the Pacific Northwest, more than 100 alumni, wives, and guests attended the seminar held at Salishan Lodge in Gleneden Beach, Oregon, on September 6-8. The following week's seminar was held at Proctor Farm near London, Ohio, on September 13-15. About 60 alumni, wives, and friends joined in the discussions that weekend.
