Despite the fact that your classmates and mine are distinguishing themselves by remaining incommunicado, I find a few scraps of information in my "in" basket, and I will proceed to do the best I can with them.

Doug and Laura Morris had dinner with Trudy and me last Sunday. We had a most delightful experience bridging the years. Doug is still articulate, to use a mild expression. He is now Director of Marketing for H. P. Hood & Sons, and is at his desk daily at 7 A.M., at milking time. After all those years in Scarsdale, Laura and Doug are rediscovering how delightful New England is. They claim they actually breathe fresh air in Wayland, only 20 miles from smoggy Boston. They are enchanted with their new home and Doug has a few plans for improvement, i.e. building a sun deck, two patios, a putting green, a 70-yard chip-and-putt fairway, a billiard room and several bird feeders. He thinks it's cute the way the squirrels steal the bird food. I use a more profane expression for our own squirrels.

Bob Wallace is now a director of the American District Telegraph Company, living in Montclair, N. J.

From Oneida, N. Y., we hear that AlbertNoyes addressed the Rotary Club on the subject of the Oneida Silversmiths, where Al is manager of consumer relations. He traces his lineage back to John Humphrey Noyes who founded the utopian-based social order in 1848.

Frank Gavan, with Armstrong Cork since graduation, and now general manager of the company's research and development facilities in Lancaster, Pa., introduced Jon Lindbergh at a symposium recently.

Busy with B'nai B'rith in Glens Falls, N. Y., is George Weill, who was the installing stallingofficer at the ceremonies held in June.

Another member of the '31 Selectmen's Club is George Conklin, selectman of Woodbridge, Conn. George was also elected president of the Dartmouth Club of New Haven, truly a vox clamantis in deserto, one might say.

Spence Miller now has Maine Central Railroad completely in his pocket, with the following titles: president, chief executive officer, chairman of the board. Who could say "No, Mr. Miller" in the face of such panoply?

On the committee to search for a successor to President Dickey is Bob Oelman, who seems to have many-sided duties these days, including serving as chairman of the national convention committee for the 55th National Foreign Trade Commission.

I recently offered some more old talking machine records to Dick Holbrook, who replied in this wise: "I like the wax itself - the label - the - numbers - the story of how I found the disc - nearly as much as the music in the grooves. A library cares naught for the record - would reduce it to tape and have no use for the records themselves. So, by George, I'll hang onto them and if necessary rent a U-Haul to take 'em past the Pearly Gates." Why don't all of you clean out your attics and ship all the black discs to Richard until he yells "stop!" Dick and Peg this summer spent some time travelling around New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Ne- vada, and Arizona. "Rode the Durango-Sil-verton narrow gauge train. Spun up Pike's Peak. Tiptoed the Trail Ridge Road in Estes Park at 10-12,000 feet. Saw dinosaur bones in the rock where they quarry them. Made eight nickels in Vegas."

RETIREE DEPT. Ed Studwell from Bennington, Vt., to Hanover, N. H., where he announces that the latchstring is out. JohnnyJohnson from Albany, N. Y., to his old diggings in Abington, Mass., where he also announces that the latchstring is out. EddieElmer from Hartford, Conn., to West Yarmouth, Mass. (Cape Cod). We would like Eddie to write regarding latchstrings. I think we could well start a Latch String Society sponsored by the retirees for the benefit of those of us who are still on the rack careerwise.

MYSTERIOUS DEPT. Why did BuckCarvalho move from Essex Junction, Vt„ to Bala-Cynwyd, Pa.? Why did Baxter Ball move from Room 2110 to Room 1051 at 150 East 42nd Street, New York? Is he on his way out?
