DARTMOUTH'S BICENTENNIAL, the subject of this month's lead article, has given rise to a wild rumor, and no one can figure out how it got started. Among a great many students, and even among some of the alumni, the idea prevails that Dartmouth's entire football schedule in the fall of 1969 will be played in Hanover as a sort of athletic salute to the College on its 200th birthday. Alas, it isn't so. Even if the new east football stands were ready, and opponents were willing, the financial difference between a normal and an all-home schedule would be staggering. Dartmouth's 1969 schedule, not yet announced, is expected to follow the usual pattern, with possibly four home games.
