Walter Anderson, a captain of football teams coached by Bob Blackman at Monrovia (Calif.) High, Pasadena City College, and the University of Denver, has been named to Blackman's staff at Dartmouth as coach of linebackers. Anderson, who was head coach at Santa Barbara City College before joining the Big Green staff, also coached at Washington State University and the University of Idaho. He was an outstanding back for Blackman in his playing days and succeeds Bob Casciola who is now defensive coordinator on the University of Connecticut football staff.
Another staff appointment finds Gary Golden, a highly successful coach at East Hampton High School on Long Island, named freshman line coach and varsity wrestling coach. He succeeds George Darlington who has accepted a position at San Jose State College. Golden, a graduate of Springfield College and Rutgers University, has produced championship teams as head football and wrestling coach at East Hampton High.
Greg Pickering has been reelected Dartmouth's basketball captain for 1969-70. Only Chip Coleman, who led the Indians in 1946-48, has been captain of the Big Green cagers for successive seasons prior to Pickering's selection.
In the coaches' All-Ivy selections, forward Alex Winn made the second team in basketball and wing Jeff Kosak received honorable mention in hockey.
