With the Big Green Teams
MAY 1968

WHILE other Big Green sports teams were on their annual "southern swing," Coach Karl Michael and his swimmers found plenty of action right at home, hosting the 45th annual NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Indiana University captured the team title, but the Green moved up 20 places into an eleventh-place tie in the 71-team competition this year. Princeton, which finished ahead of Dartmouth at the Easterns, slipped to 14th as the Green wound up their best season in recent history. Junior Terry Robinson captured a sixth-place finish in the 200 freestyle finals in 1:43.2, earning the right to try out for Olympic qualification.

Indian skiers also finished the 1967-68 season with a flair, placing third in NCAA competition at Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Junior Rick Lounsbury, earlier Eastern slalom champ, was a close second behind Olympian Dennis McCoy in the NCAA action.
