The Society of Sigma Xi, national honor society in science, came to the campus in May with the installation of a chapter by Dr. Frederick D. Rossini, past president of the society. As part of the event, Ernest Glen Wever, Higgins Professor at Princeton, delivered a public lecture on "Evolution of Hearing."

The purpose of the society is to encourage original investigation in pure and applied science, and membership is limited to those who have demonstrated noteworthy achievement in such investigations.
